Gateway Casinos Proposed $70 Million Entertainment Destination in Delta Receives Preliminary Approval From City Council

DELTA,  May 2, 2018 – Last night, Gateway Casinos took a significant step towards bringing a premier gaming and entertainment destination to Delta as it’s proposed entertainment destination project was passed at a special council meeting and earned support from the Delta City Council.

“As a proud member of the Metro Vancouver business community for over 25 years, we are very excited about this significant development investment and the first-class entertainment options it will allow us to bring to the City of Delta,” said Gateway Casinos CEO, Tony Santo.

The new location will bring up to 700 new jobs and careers and a $70 million investment to the local economy.  The new Cascades Casino Delta will include a spectacular gaming floor, three of Gateway’s signature restaurants: Match Eatery & Public House, Atlas Steak + Fish, and The Buffet; as well as, live entertainment and a premium hotel, with up to 124 rooms and flexible meeting space.

Tony Santo said that, from the beginning, Gateway has worked to create a project that meets the needs of the Delta community and allows them to bring a state of-the-art entertainment destination to this rapidly growing community. This includes hosting multiple open house sessions where people came from across Delta to learn about the project and offer their comments and suggestions.

“I’d personally like to thank everyone who attended the 2-day Public Hearing, as well as our seven open house sessions,” said Santo. “Gateway Casinos has always valued the opinions of people in this community and the input we’ve received continues to enhance our project.”

Mr. Santo also thanked Mayor Lois Jackson and members of Delta City Council for their thoughtful consideration of the project.

Gateway Casinos will now continue working with its partners throughout the community to finalize plans for the new location. Gateway is planning to open the new Cascades Casino Delta in 2020.
