We appreciate that you may have questions about the return to operations and your next visit.  Here is some information to address questions you may have about our programs, promotions, and offers.


By order of the Provincial Health Officer, beginning on September 13, 2021, proof of vaccination is required to enter casinos, community gaming centres and bingo halls in B.C.

Effective October 24, 2021, you must be fully vaccinated to access our casino and restaurants. You’re fully vaccinated when you have all doses of an approved vaccine. You must present the BC Vaccine Card along with photo ID for entry. Other forms of vaccine proof will no longer accepted.   • Following guidance from the Provincial Health Officer, accepted proof of vaccination includes:
    • B.C. Residents: B.C. Vaccine Card, mobile or printed
    • Canadian Visitors: Provincially/territorially officially recognized vaccine record
    • International Visitors: Proof of vaccination used to enter Canada

In all of the jurisdictions where we operate, the provincial government and Public Health Officers (PHOs) have implemented proof of vaccination requirements for all guests of our casinos, restaurants and some amenities. The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) notes that vaccination is one of the most effective ways to help protect ourselves, our families and communities against COVID-19. At Gateway, we are taking the step to implement an Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. This will best ensure we are fulfilling our requirement to provide a safe and healthy environment for our employees and guests. Beginning November 8, 2021, all employees at Gateway are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or begin completing weekly rapid testing and adhering to mandatory mask requirements, regardless of the public health direction of mask mandate.

Self-provided face masks are REQUIRED for all guests inside public spaces at our all of our British Columbia Casinos or Chances locations including all restaurants and patios.
Employees will be required to wear an approved mask while working at our properties.

Encore Rewards has extended the expiration of points earned between March 17, 2019 and July 4, 2021 until July 5, 2022.

Private rooms may be available with a reservation. Casinos will operate these rooms under stringent health & safety standards and will follow all public health officials’ guidelines.

BCLC and our service provider partners have developed a COVID-19 safety plan to protect our employees. Every casino has appointed a health and safety delegate or committee on site, have staggered employee shifts to prevent congestion in staff areas and reconfigured employee break spaces to allow for more spacing.

BCLC and casino service providers will continue to comply with all of WorkSafeBC’s standards. All employees, contractors and vendors will be required to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate for their role, such as face coverings.

Before returning to work, all casino employees will be required to complete a training program on the new health and safety protocols.

The design of ventilation systems for casinos and community gaming centres is highly specialized and systems meet or exceed all air-quality standards. Air changes occur frequently per hour.

Unlike other jurisdictions, smoking is not permitted inside all of our facilities.

All casino service providers are required to follow comprehensive health and safety guidelines. Sanitation of surfaces and gaming equipment including slot machines will occur frequently throughout the day. Signage will also encourage players to hand sanitize regularly.

Chips will be cleaned frequently throughout the day. Players will be encouraged to hand sanitize before sitting down at a table. Dice for Craps will be disinfected after each shooter and when the dice moves to the next player.

Following the October 24, 2021 proof of full vaccination requirement, shuttle buses and valet offerings may begin to resume at some facilities. Masks are mandatory when using these services. Check your casino’s website for updates on services.

Sanitation of all surfaces and gaming equipment including bingo terminals will occur throughout the day. In addition, bingo balls, accessories and call stands will be thoroughly cleaned between each caller and at the completion of each session.

Bingo service providers may offer paper based bingo. Before returning to work, bingo employees are required to complete a training program on the new health and safety measures, including the handling of paper-based bingo products.

Casino Promotions

We look forward to surprising and delighting our guests with socially distanced promotions that will allow guests to enjoy the excitement while seated at their slot machines. More details will be available upon your arrival at our sites.

Unfortunately, due to our mandated closure all active promotions were cancelled or postponed effective March 16, 2020. Please visit the Guest Services desk at your local Gateway Casinos facility once we re-open for details related to specific promotions.

Unfortunately, we cannot honour any slot play, match play or food and beverage offers which were issued prior to our March 16, 2020 closure. The good news is following the re-opening of our casino programs will restart with new offers.

Dining Promotions

Any dining offers and promotions which were issued prior to March 16, 2020 are no longer valid.  We will resume issuing dining offers following the re-opening of our casinos.  Some of our dining offers may change depending on capacity restrictions or health and safety guidelines in place at that time.

All My Club Eat and Drink promotions are currently suspended. We will resume My Club Eat and Drink promotional activity, as appropriate, following the re-opening of our restaurants.  Some of our promotions may change depending on capacity restrictions and health and safety guidelines in place at that time.

Gaming Vouchers

Any slot ticket that has expired during the closure of our casinos will be honoured. Once we re-open, simply bring it to the cashier’s cage at your local Gateway Casinos facility to redeem your ticket.
