We appreciate that you may have questions about the return to operations and your next visit.  Here is some information to address questions you may have about our programs, promotions, and offers.

General

BCLC and casinos throughout B.C. safely reopened casinos and community gaming centres on July 1, 2021. BCLC and its casino service providers will continue to follow the directions of the Provincial Health Officer.

Effective July 29, 2021, face masks are REQUIRED for all guests inside public spaces at our Playtime Casino Kelowna location. Employees will be required to wear an approved mask while working at our properties.

It is required that guests wear a face masks while inside the facility. Please bring your own mask when you visit.

Face masks are strongly recommended for all guests inside our public spaces at all our other properties.  It is recommended that guests wear a face mask when entering or leaving the casino, in a queue, making your way to a slot machine or in the restroom. Please bring your own mask when you visit.

Occupancy will be reduced to as many players as there are active seats available on the gaming floor, in addition to occupancy for amenities such as restaurants and lounges.

BCLC and casinos throughout B.C. will take every precaution to support proper physical distancing while guests are lining up.

Floor decals placed two-metres apart will help guide guests, should they need to queue.

Encore Rewards has extended the expiration of free play points until January 4, 2022.

Baccarat: Baccarat tables will have a maximum of 5 players, with distance between each player. Additionally, back betting is not allowed. At Squeeze Play Baccarat tables, dealers will dispose of cards after each round.

Blackjack: Blackjack tables will have a maximum of 5 players, with distance between each player. Players will not be allowed to touch the cards. At Double Deck Blackjack tables, dealers will deal cards face up.

Craps: Craps tables will have a maximum of 4 players per end, with distance between each player. Staff will disinfect the dice after each shooter and when the dice moves to the next player. Once a new shooter is passed the dice, no one else can touch the dice until the shooter craps out and the dice are moved to the next player.

Poker variants: Poker tables, including Fortune Pai Gow, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Four Card Poker, Texas Hold’em, and Fortune Asia Poker, will have a maximum of 5 players per table, with distance between each player. Dealers will deal the cards face up and order them from high to low for players to see. Players cannot touch the cards.

Community Poker: Community poker will not be offered initially upon reopening.

Roulette: Roulette tables will have a maximum of 5 players, with distance between each player. Outside bets will not be allowed by other players.

Private rooms may be available with a reservation. Casinos will operate these rooms under enhanced health and safety measures. We will share more information as it becomes available.

BCLC and our service provider partners have developed a COVID-19 safety plan to protect our employees.  Every casino must appoint a health and safety delegate or committee on site, have staggered employee shifts to prevent congregation and reconfigure employee break spaces to allow for physical distancing.

BCLC and casino service providers will continue to comply with all of WorkSafeBC’s standards. All employees, contractors and vendors will be required to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate for their role, such as face coverings.

Before returning to work, all casino employees will be required to complete a training program on the new health and safety protocols.

The design of ventilation systems for casinos and community gaming centres is highly specialized and systems meet or exceed all air-quality standards. Air changes occur frequently per hour.

Unlike other jurisdictions, smoking is not permitted inside all of our facilities.

All casino service providers will be required to follow comprehensive health and safety guidelines. Sanitation of surfaces and gaming equipment including slot machines will occur frequently throughout the day. Signage will also encourage players to hand sanitize regularly. In-fact, we will provide free bottles of hand sanitizers to our players to use throughout the facility and refill stations will be located throughout our facilities.

With the exception of Squeeze Baccarat, players cannot touch the playing cards; they will dealt face-up and handled exclusively by a dealer behind a plexi-glass barrier. Players will be required to hand sanitize before playing at a table. Dealers will also hand sanitize regularly and a new set of cards will be used every day. Used card will be disposed.

For Squeeze Baccarat, players can touch the cards because they are one-time use and will be disposed after each use.

Yes, chips will be cleaned frequently throughout the day. Players will be required to hand sanitize before playing at a table. Dice for Craps will be disinfected after each shooter and when the dice moves to the next player. Players will hand sanitize before sitting down at a table and when a player leaves a table, a short break will be taken to thoroughly sanitize that area.

Some food and beverage service at casinos, community gaming centres and bingo halls will resume with modified procedures to support physical distancing guidelines. Buffets and self-serve food will remain closed. For specifics on dining outlets at casinos and community gaming centres, please contact the site directly.

Upon reopening, shuttle buses and valet service will be suspended until it is safe to resume.

When our casino service providers re-introduce these services, they will adhere to WorkSafeBC’s Transit and COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Bingo terminals and seating will be spaced out at least 2 metres apart. Where physical distancing cannot be achieved, barriers such as plexi-glass will be installed.

Sanitation of all surfaces and gaming equipment including bingo terminals will occur throughout the day. In addition, bingo balls, accessories and call stands will be thoroughly cleaned between each caller and at the completion of each session.

Bingo service providers may offer paper based bingo. Before returning to work, bingo employees will be required to complete a training program on the new health and safety measures, including the handling of paper-based bingo products.

Casino Promotions

We look forward to surprising and delighting our guests with socially distanced promotions that will allow guests to enjoy the excitement while seated at their slot machines. More details will be available upon your arrival at our sites.

Unfortunately, due to our mandated closure all active promotions were cancelled or postponed effective March 16, 2020. Please visit the Guest Services desk at your local Gateway Casinos facility once we re-open for details related to specific promotions.

Unfortunately, we cannot honour any slot play, match play or food and beverage offers which were issued prior to our March 16, 2020 closure. The good news is following the re-opening of our casino programs will restart with new offers.

Dining Promotions

Any dining offers and promotions which were issued prior to March 16, 2020 are no longer valid.  We will resume issuing dining offers following the re-opening of our casinos.  Some of our dining offers may change depending on capacity restrictions or health and safety guidelines in place at that time.

All My Club Eat and Drink promotions are currently suspended. We will resume My Club Eat and Drink promotional activity, as appropriate, following the re-opening of our restaurants.  Some of our promotions may change depending on capacity restrictions and health and safety guidelines in place at that time.

Gaming Vouchers

Any slot ticket that has expired during the closure of our casinos will be honoured. Once we re-open, simply bring it to the cashier’s cage at your local Gateway Casinos facility to redeem your ticket.
