As we near the end of this Holiday Season, we reflect on the year we’ve had and celebrate our many good moments. For some in our communities this has been a tough year. While we count our many blessings it is important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and help out, pitch in and make a difference where we can.
In true GatewayGIVES style, I am very proud to say that thanks to our over 8,000 team members and our many customers across Canada we have done just that.
To-date we have collectively donated over 5,116lbs of food including 539 boxes of Kraft Dinner, 109 pairs of Pajamas, over 400 winter clothing items, more than 1,400 toys, and over $113,000 in cash and in-kind to various Food Banks, Christmas Bureaus, and non-profit organizations throughout our communities.
As well as, hundreds of hours of volunteer time to cook and deliver meals, hand out toys, decorate Christmas trees, and make Christmas crackers.
I want to thank all our management, staff and customers for your generous donations that are sure to have a positive impact on many this holiday season.
