MATCH Eatery & Public House is Set to Launch a Food Truck in Summer 2021
Launch Festivities to Support Make-A-Wish Canada’s Wish Hero Campaign
July 21, 2021 – Langley, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (“Gateway”) is pleased to announce they have expanded their food & beverage operations to include mobile restaurant service with the launch of two “Match On The Move” food trucks – one operating in the Lower Mainland and one operating in Southwestern Ontario.
Gateway’s most successful signature food and beverage brand, MATCH Eatery & Public House (MATCH), is a contemporary themed pub that offers a great sporting and entertainment experience, with the atmosphere and comfort of a neighbourhood pub. The vision for Match On The Move is to bring the MATCH brand of pub tastes to the streets of the communities they operate with the familiarity of the bricks & mortar experience.
The menu is inspired by MATCH favorites – and will feature items such as Fish N’ Chips tacos, The Whole Hog pork belly sandwich, a Market Chicken salad and sweet treats like the Orange Creamsicle Float and S’mores Fries. One truck will be based in British Columbia and primarily spend time traveling throughout the Lower Mainland and the second truck will call Ontario home, spending time in mainly in southwest Ontario. Match on the Move will be found at local hot spots and be available to book for private parties, community events and fundraisers.
“We are extremely excited to expand our popular MATCH Eatery & Public House brand and the opportunity to share it with communities across BC and Ontario,” said Todd Pollock, Gateway’s VP of Food & Beverage. “Further we are looking forward to connecting the truck’s activity with local community groups and charitable organizations to enhance their fundraising efforts – starting with our national partners at Make-A-Wish Canada.”
“We are truly thankful for the partnership that we have with Gateway, and it’s wonderful to see them further invest in the vibrancy of our city,” said Langley City Mayor Val van den Broek. “We congratulate them on the launch of the new Match On The Move food truck and cannot wait for the community to discover this new fun and delicious dining experience.”
Kicking off during the launch festivities and continuing through August 21, GatewayGIVES – Gateway’s community and charitable giving program – is proud to fundraise for Make-A-Wish Canada, a national partner of GatewayGIVES. During the month of July/August, every time customers purchase the Hero Burger a donation will be made to their Wish Heroes Campaign. Gateway Casinos will be matching all donations up to $2,000 ($1,000 per truck).
“We are so excited to be apart of this delicious fundraiser. The timing of this is ideal because there are thousands of wishes that are waiting to be granted across Canada because of revenue declines and global travel restrictions,” said Laura Ullock, Manager, Resource Development at Make-A-Wish® Canada. “Our team continues to work tirelessly to deliver wishes for children within the limits of COVID-19 and to prepare to address the significant backlog of wishes when the pandemic comes to an end. This campaign will assist in ensuring that every eligible child’s heartfelt wish is granted.”
