Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Celebrates 25th Anniversary in Surrey
With 25 Days Of Giving
November 16, 2017 – Surrey, BC – The Evergeen Transition House received a cheque for $5,000 from Newton Community Gaming Centre as part of GatewayGIVES’ 25 Days of Giving in celebration of Gateway’s 25th anniversary in the business of entertainment.
GatewayGIVES is the corporate giving and community engagement program of Gateway Casinos. The 25 Days of Giving campaign will contribute $5,000 to a worthy local charity selected by employees, in each of the communities where Gateway operates. At the end of the October campaign, GatewayGIVES will have donated a total of $125,000 to the deserving, employee-selected, charities across Canada.
Gateway dedicated the month of October to celebrate its silver anniversary with customers, communities and employees. As part of the festivities they launched the 25 Days of Giving campaign through GatewayGIVES and are letting their employees select the charity of their choice in the communities where they live and work. The Evergreen Transition House was selected in recognition of its ongoing efforts to ensure that women and children, fleeing violence and abuse, have a safe place to go. Aside from the emergency shelter they provide, this fantastic organization also provides support, counselling, advocacy information, and referrals to community resources.
Janice Boyle, Development Manager for Options BC, attended the presentation at the Newton Community Gaming Centre and accept the donation on behalf of the organization. “We are extremely appreciative on behalf of The Evergreen Transition House for this generous donation.”
